Free Download Manager (FDM) software Open Source version alternative to GetRight!
Ok, you just have to ask, is Free Download Manager really better than GetRight ? Actually it’s even better, because it’s free! That’s right this is the Open Source alternative to GetRight! Well at least that’s my option. Now you don’t have to pay GetRight anymore stupid yearly fees for their software. Free Download Manager works just like GetRight!
Just take a look at the screen shot below! I was downloading a product I bought from Payloadz, this normally takes 2 days to download this many files on my slow connection, but I just setup the downloads and went to sleep.

Now to be honest, Payloadz did timeout a couple of downloads, but I was able to right click the downloads that was stopped, hit properties from the popup tool menu and enter the new fresh download for the same file and it started the download where it left off!, so a 158MB file started at 80% instead of restarting at 1% . How cool was that!
Another cool feature is the little window on the lower right of the screen, I was able to just click and hold on any download link and drag it to the download window and the software asked me where to download it to along with some basic settings and your done!
There are tons more features, like downloading flash files, from utube, google, an upload manager, a portable mode, a remote control feature where you can check downloads from another computer, active spyware, resume downloads, HTML Spider (Download Entire Websites), Simultaneous downloading from several mirrors, Download acceleration, Download Speed Limit and a lot more.. check out the entire list of features here.
To top it all off, they have an option where you can customize the software, so you can give the software to your customers and they will see your link in the software, you can rotate your banner images and a few more options that you might enjoy.
If you have not noticed by now, I really like this product and I am sure you will enjoy all the features just as much as I do, especially when your getting it for free!
